Co-Owner Alison De Renzi & Chef/Co-Owner Francesco d’Amuri

Chef/Co-Owner Francesco d’Amuri was born in Francavilla Fontana, Brindisi in Italy. Francesco began his culinary career in summer resorts in Rimini.  His inherent love for cooking made him a natural and a summer job turned into a seasonal gig.  After working with the Albanesi  family for several years in their Rimini resorts Francesco began to travel with them throughout the year and work in their other establishments.  Working in Arezzo, Cortona, Rome and Florence exposed Chef d’Amuri to different types of Italian cuisine.  When called to serve mandatory military service in Florence Francesco found it hard to keep out of the kitchen and soon found himself cooking in the officers’ canteen.  Upon finishing his service d’Amuri began work at the five star Hotel Baglioni in Florence.  From there he began a long working relationship with Florence’s premier caterer Ciabatti.  Chef d’Amuri recently moved  to America with his wife to open L’Orcio.  Working and traveling throughout Italy has shaped d’Amuri’s culinary style.  Francesco is now sampling from all different regions of Italy for L’Orcio’s menus and is excited about the possibility to share the wealth of culinary tradition from his native country.
